Cambridgeshire Regiment Museum
We are located at The Keep (Gibraltar Barracks), Bury St Edmunds. There are also Regimental displays in the local museums of Ely, March and Wisbech. We are part of the Suffolk and Cambridgeshire Regiments Museum.
The displays record the Regiment’s proud history including service in South Africa 1900-1901, encompassing both World Wars, and ending, due to Army restructuring, in 1961 during the Cold War.

The Suffolk and Cambridgeshire Regiments’ Museum at The Keep in Bury St Edmunds is open to the public as follows:
Wednesday, Thursday, Friday – 0930-1530
First Sunday of each month – 0930-1530

We welcome visits from researchers, but ask that you contact us in advance so that we can make sure our Curator or our Archivist is available to help you.
Volunteers needed:
We are in need of more volunteers to be able to keep the museum open. Volunteers are needed to greet visitors and assist them with enquiries during their time at the museum. No prior knowledge of the regiment is required!

The Cambridgeshire Regiment Museum is co-located with the Suffolk Regiment Museum within the Keep at Bury St Edmunds, Gibraltar Barracks, Newmarket Road, IP33 3RN.
Entry fees
Access to the museum is free but we do ask you to consider making a donation that goes towards the upkeep of the museum.
Group bookings
Group visits are welcome, but must be booked in advance. Please contact our Curator to book a visit.
